assess access to and quality of healthcare of detainees and displaces persons in places of detention; analyse the places of detention health care system and nutrition quality and identify the main shortcomings within the places of detention health care system and their causes, and determine those that should be addressed in priority by ICRC;

Policy, Advocacy , Communications, Networking & Information Sharing:

Serving as a communication bridge between national advocates and the international tobacco control community.

Developing, disseminating, and promoting key information on tobacco control and the FCTC to NGOs, media, government, and the public.

Encouraging and promoting collaboration and the exchange of information, skills, and experience in the region – including the development of the FCA membership website.

Reaching out to new partners and recruiting new NGOs to participate in the FCTC process.

2. Supporting National, Sub-Regional, and regional FCTC Implementation

Providing advice and information to support national advocates’ activities that help promote FCTC ratification and implementation, including policy analysis, media advocacy, and monitoring FCTC implementation based on an initial needs assessment.

Where appropriate, develop direct contacts with national government representatives to promote FCTC implementation and develop links between government and civil society on FCTC issues.

Delivering sub-regional capacity-building workshops on issues related to FCTC implementation (as agreed in work plans).

Identifying and supporting opportunities to promote tobacco control and FCTC implementation, including funding, networking, research, and capacity building.
3. Participation in FCTC (Framework Convention Alliance on Tobacco Control) Development Process

Ensuring that the interests of civil society from the region are well-supported in the development of FCA policy positions.

Dissemination of FCA policy materials to governments and civil society in relation to the development of FCTC guidelines and protocols.
-
Information and intelligence gathering from PICs, when necessary.
4. Monitoring FCTC Implementation
-
Assist in the Monitoring of the FCTC by helping the FCA Monitoring team identify in-country partners and supporting any regional training.

Disseminating FCTC Monitor Report results regionally.
5. Managing Resources & Reporting
-
Maintaining effective records, including records of activities, income, and expenditure.
-
Providing monthly updates and quarterly status and financial reports.

Assisting in fundraising efforts as requested.
